Ambulance No-Show: Vaal Delayed

Frustrations for stakeholders

4Racing may well be in the market soon for a brand new paramedic and on-course ambulance provider after the final South African racemeeting of the year was delayed due to an apparent no-show by the contracted ambulance and medical team.

Duty Manager Thomas Rasasamola confirmed to the Sporting Post that the horses were sent to the start for the 12h50 first race on the basis of an undertaking that the ambulance and medics were on their way.

Up to our conversation with him at 13h15, they had still not arrived.

We have no background as to the reasons for the delay.

Mr Rasasamola confirmed that there was in fact a Doctor ‘and nursing sister’ on course, per requirements.

So the issue is the missing ambulance.
