Why you can think what you like...

Social mediaA Queensland apprentice has been suspended for three months for sending an abusive text message.

Steward concluded an inquiry at Cairns racecourse last Saturday following a complaint against Amanda Thomson.

Thomson pleaded guilty in the presence of her master Fred Wieland to a charge under AR 175(qq) that she sent a text message on January 23, “to the mobile phone of another person, the content of which could have a detrimental effect on racing and is not befitting of the conduct of a licensee.”

Thomson was suspended for three months, two of which will be suspended for 12 months. Thomson will be free to return to riding on March 18.

Stewards took no action against Thomson in August following a complaint from an owner the apprentice “displayed insulting behaviour” toward him near the mounting yard.
