Aldo’s Vaal Lightning Raid Can Pay Dividends

First race is off at 12h00

Racing is back at the Vaal this afternoon and ten races are carded.

Jockey Aldo Domeyer makes the trip up north and he has three rides with a couple of decent winning chances.

The first is due off at 12h00.

Jerusalema Rain from the Ashley Fortune stable takes his place in Race 2 and he is the best bet on the programme.

Aldo Domeyer – 3 decent rides today (Pic – Chase Liebenberg)

He produced an eye-catching debut effort over 1000m on the Classic course. He moved up like a winner but was caught in the shadow of the post by Guy Gibson.

He found plenty of betting support that day which suggests that he was showing good work at home. He would have come on from the run and with the natural improvement that is expected, he should be the horse to beat.

Trainer Ashley Fortune saddles Captain Hindsight in Race 8 and he represents decent each way value. He raced from a handy position over 1450m on the Classic course last time but was outrun. He won his only attempt over this course and distance. He has dropped to a competitive rating and on best form shown, he should be the one to beat.

The Hollywoodbets Punters’ Challenge was won yesterday at Hollywoodbets Scottsville and it’s up for grabs again today.

Kindly note that jockeys Randall Simons, Keagan de Melo and Kabelo Matsunyane will not be riding today.
