There was a death of a horse at the North Rand Veterinary Hospital, which has been confirmed as an African Horse Sickness case (Serotype 3). Therefore a 30km radius quarantine has been put in place around this area.
NO horse can travel directly into the Western Cape from there.
Serotype 3 is covered by the vaccine number 1. If you have any queries, please contact the State Vet.
