AHS Update

“There have been several confirmed cases of African horse sickness reported in the media from virtually all Provinces except the Northern Cape and Western Cape. It is anticipated that the Department of Agriculture in the Western Cape will issue a ban on the direct movement of horses from areas outside of the AHS Controlled Area into the AHS Controlled area.

Owners and transporters should take this into account if they are considering moving horses into the AHS Controlled Area and are encouraged to contact their local state veterinarian or the state veterinarian, Boland ([email protected]) , for further information
