PE trainer A Wilmot guilty of prohibited substancecharge

The National Horseracing Authority advises that PE trained Mrs A Wilmot has been found guilty of a charge relatedto a prohibited substance.

The National Horseracing Authority confirms that at an Inquiry held in Port Elizabeth on 13 June 2013, Trainer Mrs A Wilmot was charged with a contravention of Rule 73.2.4 in that she, being the trainer responsible for the horse EMPIRE GIRL, who ran in and won the 3rd race at Fairview Racecourse on 22 March 2013, after which a urine specimen taken from this horse disclosed, upon analysis, the presence of Flumethasone, which is a prohibited substance in terms of the Rules of The National Horseracing Authority.

 Mrs Wilmot pleaded not guilty to the charge.

 The Inquiry Board found Mrs Wilmot guilty of the charge and imposed a penalty of a fine of R40 000,00.

 Mrs Wilmot has the right of appeal against the finding and the penalty imposed.

 Furthermore in terms of Rule 72.3.2 EMPIRE GIRL is disqualified from this race and the stake monies are to be returned for re-distribution in terms of Rule 67.7.8.
