A Touch Of Night Racing Brings Back Memories!

First is off at 15h20

The meeting that was meant to have taken place at Turffontein on Saturday was moved to this afternoon and eleven races are carded.

The main event on the programme is the Non-Black Type Egoli Mile.

The first is due off at 15h20, so a portion of the eleven-race programme will under the lights. How we remember the good old days- even if this meeting comes with a load of scratchings.

Trainer Fabian Habib saddles Mover And Shaker in Race 10.

He showed good speed over this distance on the Vaal Classic course last time and kept finding to hold all challengers at bay.

He finished second in his only attempt over this course and distance. Apprentice Siyanda Sosibo takes the 2.5kgs off his back and he can follow up.

Laguna Verde from the Lucky Houdalakis yard takes his place in Race 7. He showed signs of needing his comeback run over 1450m on the Vaal Classic course. He would have come on from the run and will strip a much fitter horse.

The son of Gimmethegreenlight gets the blinkers fitted which will keep his mind on the task at hand. He is a horse that is loaded with ability and on best form shown, he should be too good for this field.

Please note that jockeys Muzi Yeni, Rachel Venniker, Keagan de Melo & Athandiwe Mgudlwa and Randall Simons will not be riding.
