A Happy 99th Winning Chance For Hollywood Syndicate

Super win for Brett Crawford-trained galloper

The Dynasty filly Happy Chance grabbed her maiden stakes success with a terrific victory in the weather-delayed R200 000 World Sports Betting Sweet Chestnut Stakes at Hollywoodbets Kenilworth on Monday.

Given every chance by Louis Mxothwa from her pole position draw, Happy Chance wore down the free-striding Kwinta’s Light to cap a terrific weekend for the Hollywood Syndicate and register the team’s 99th winner of the term. The yellow and purple silks were carried to their fourth Gr1 victory of the season when Isivunguvungu won the Jonsson Workwear Gr1 Computaform Sprint on Saturday at Turffontein.

The first leg of the now open-to-all-ages Winter Series for the fairer sex hosted a quality nine runner field on the public holiday, and it was the classy Brett Crawford-trained 3yo in the shape of the lightly raced Happy Chance (33-10) who showed her summer Gr1 collateral to be spot-on as she registered the victory by a neck in a time of 88,07 secs.

Kwinta’s Light (5-1) performed best of the Snaith duo for second, ahead of Bass-Robinson longshot Echo Of Life (25-1) in third.

The Ridgemont Highlands bred Happy Chance is a daughter of the iconic Dynasty (Fort Wood) out of the four-time winning Captain Al mare, Three Blue Cranes.

Now a winner of 3 races with 3 places from 8 starts, Happy Chance took her stakes earnings to R295 400.

The Inspiring Story Of Dr Marianne Thomson

‘I am writing this as an older, small breeder and in our language, Markus, because this is our war. If I phoned you, I’d be overwhelmed by business jargon within a minute. What makes you so angry that you don’t care what you are doing to our shaky industry? How do you deal with this in your inner, quiet self?’
