A Divine Day At Fairview

The first race is off at 12h20

Eight races are carded on the polytrack at Fairview Racecourse this afternoon.

Race 7 on the programme is the second leg of the Nelson Mandela Bay Racing East Cape Poly Challenge over 1400m.

The first is due off at 12h20.

Alan Greeff saddles Divine Design in Race 1 and she should give punters a good start to the day. She challenged strongly in her last start over 1000m on the turf, but found one too good in the form of Glass Shoes.

Her debut effort over this distance catches the eye. She moved up like a winner, but was caught late by Rhythm Of The Rain. The daughter of Captain Of All tries the polytrack for the first time and if this run has not come too soon, she should take a power of beating.

Variety Breeze from the Juan Nel yard takes her place in Race 6 and she represents decent each way value. She ran a decent race when third over this trip on the turf last time. It must be noted that Phedra has come out and won again since.

She has won twice and finished second once from five starts over this course and distance. She is likely to be settled just off the speed and can return to winning ways.

Please note: P Mxoli and L Mxothwa will not be riding today.

  • The Bipot starts in the first race at 12h20
  • The Place Accumulator starts in the second race at 12h50
  • The Pick 6 starts in the third race at 13h25
  • The first Jackpot starts in the fourth race at 14h00
  • The second Jackpot starts in the fifth race at 14h35
