Paul Peter Is All For Racing!

Ndoro Stud produce the magic in feature opener

Paul Peter and his overseas-bound SA champion rider Warren Kennedy got the 4Racing Champions Day feature programme off to a flying start with the Ndoro Stud-bred Soft Falling Rain filly Heavens Girl winning the R250 000 4Racing Gr2 SA Fillies Nursery.

With the going leaning east of the official good to soft rating, the Turffontein outside going seemed to favour the runners drawn there and Kennedy took every advantage.

Giving her the signal at the 350m, Heavens Girl (20-1) drew away and held off the late challenge of the De Kock maiden Desert Miracle (8-1) by 0,80 lengths in a time of 66,73 secs.

The rest were well beaten with Corne Spies’ Supreme Quest (33-1) pipping the unbeaten odds-on shot Under Your Spell, drawn down the inside, into fourth to the disappointment of Place Accumulator players.

A R110 000 2020 BSA Cape Yearling Sale graduate, the winner is a daughter of Wilgerbosdrift’s ill-fated National Assembly sire Soft Falling Rain. She is out of the Dynasty one-time winner Maggie Muggins.

Heavens Girl took her stakes earnings to R272 750 with her second win and 4 places from 6 starts.

The first two exotics on the big day both exceed target.

The Bipot carryover of R50 000, with a projected R400 000, reached a nett of R523 653.

The Place Accumulator carryover of R100 000, with a projected R800 000, reached a nett of R1 066 276.
