The Gr1 Allan Robertson Championship opens the carryover Gr1 jackpot at Hollywoodbets Scottsville today.
The race is off at 14h00.
Dean Kannemeyer’s recent debut winner Gimme’s Countess looks a decent sort and can follow up – in this much stronger company.
Comments from Trainers
- GIMME’S COUNTESS : “ She’s beautifully bred … her full brother is Gimme A Prince. She won exceptionally well, the first time out on the polytrack. I’m sure she’ll have come on from that race. I think she’s got a bright future at a 3-year-old in the springtime, but she’s in great shape and growing into a beautiful filly”, Dean Kannemeyer.
- JUST RECKLESS : “She’s a huge runner, having run 6 times for 3 wins and 3 2nds, including feature placed and feature winner. She had the experience on her side. Drawn right down the middle, so can go either way depends on where the going is the best. She’s not big, but very gutsy and good”, Craig Eudey.
- QUID PRO QUO : “We probably have one of the better 2-year-old fillies at the moment. She ran 2nd to Just Reckless, who went on to run 2nd in the colts Nursery in Joburg. Her first couple of runs, she was so green. She ducks for stuff that doesn’t exist. We decided to work her in blinkers … big difference”, Barend Botes. Barend told Racing News that she will race in blinkers again, has a good draw with S’Manga back on board again.
- KINDRED HEART : “She’s a progressive filly … hasn’t finished a race outside the top 3 yet. She’s improving. It looks to be a tough race, but open with the scratching of Little Ballerina. She’s game and will give you her all on raceday. A big step up. She has an outside chance”, James Crawford.
- SYMPHONY IN WHITE : “She was quite green in her gallop at Scottsville, but still put up very good work. She comes off a good win in Cape Town and I do rate her quite highly. I’m hoping for a decent run”, Candice Bass-Robinson.
9.RODEO DRIVE : “Even though she’s a maiden winner, she did win it really well and that’s given us the confidence to take a chance here. The draw of 9 is not ideal, as she tends to lug in a bit. An open race and we’re hoping for a good run”, Sean Tarry.
- PROM QUEEN : “She won her 2nd start at Kenilworth. The other day I thought the 1100m may have been a bit sharp for her. She put up a nice gallop last week. Both of my runners are in great shape”, Dean Kannemeyer.
