An Apple A Day

First race is off at 12h30

With rain having fallen over the past few days and the skies looking threatening again this morning, Hollywoodbets Durbanville is alongside Turffontein this afternoon and nine races are carded.

Don’t forget about the free to play Hollywoodbets Punters Challenge. The first is due off at 12h30.

Trainer Paddy Kruyer saddles Apple Catcher in Race 3 and she is the best bet on the programme. She has produced two good second place finishes to date.

She jumped awkwardly when leaving the start last time, but the way she stayed on was encouraging. The daughter of Pomodoro gets the blinkers fitted for the first time and the headgear should keep her mind on the task at hand. If jumping on terms, she should go one better.

Broadway Girl takes her place in Race 6. She stayed on when third in the Listed Schweppes Cape Oaks last time.

She has won twice from three starts over this distance. The daughter of Master Of My Fate is making her course debut as well as having her first run for trainer Eric Sands. She takes a drop-in class and if suited to this track, she can notch up her third career victory.
