The legendary Stormsvlei, a dual Equus Broodmare Of The Year and dam of champions Pocket Power and River Jetez, was a R12 000 purchase from the 2003 sale, underlining the quality and value breeders can find at this auction.

The sale is a must for any serious buyer looking to improve their broodmare band. It will take place one day after the Cape Breeders host their annual stallion evening, a definite highlight of the local racing calendar!

The catalogue will also see the dispersal of the famed Zandvliet Stud, breeders of, amongst others, triple Horse Of The Year and local legend Pocket Power. Amongst the stud’s other stars are Hammie’s Hooker and Trip Tease, and both of the latter’s dams will be offered for sale. Hammie’s Hooker’s dam, Gem Queen (catalogued as lot 66) sells in foal to champion sprinter Var, while Girlish, dam of top sprinter Trip Tease, is offered in foal to Pathfork, whose first yearlings have been extremely well received.
